Welcome to Naked News everyone. Most of the world is still taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which isn’t slowing down anywhere nearly as fast as we’d all hoped. Some countries are in fact ramping up their measures, including one country where cases are still on the rise. Isabella’s in the Naked Newsroom with the details.
Eila, South Africa recently saw its highest-ever one-day jump in coronavirus cases, spurring the government to implement some very restrictive measures. That includes mandatory masks, even when outdoors, a night-time curfew, and a ban on alcohol sales. In a speech, the country’s president slammed people who were throwing parties, going on drinking sprees, and going to crowded spaces without masks. C’mon, people, be SMART!
The US Food and Drug Administration has added MORE hand sanitizers to the “do not use” list. There are now fifty-nine varieties that should be avoided because they may contain methanol, rather than the standard ethanol. Methanol can be absorbed through the skin, and exposure can cause dangerous or even deadly effects. All of the listed sanitizers were produced in Mexico, and can be found by going to FDA.gov and searching for the term “sanitizer”.
And Walmart is preparing to launch a subscription service intended to rival Amazon Prime! The company hasn’t confirmed any details, but reports say it’ll be a rebranding and expansion of their Grocery Unlimited service. Called Walmart Plus, the ninety-eight dollar a year membership will apparently offer perks like early access to deals, discounts, and same-day delivery of groceries and other items. A teaser page says the service is “coming soon”, but no specific date has been released yet. Stay tuned for more 3x.wtf.
