Hello, everyone, I’m Alana Blaire, welcome to Naked News. We’re all social distancing and it feels like it’s been going on for-EVER, but according to researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, it may have only just started. Laura’s in the Naked Newsroom with the details.
That’s right Alana. In a study just published in the journal Science, this is the line that’s caught everyone’s attention: “Intermittent distancing may be required into 2022 unless critical care capacity is increased substantially or a treatment or vaccine becomes available.” The researchers from Harvard also noted that even if this coronavirus seems to have been eliminated, a resurgence in contamination could happen as late as 2024! To be clear, there are still a lot of unknowns… but we may have to start making some mental adjustments.
During these troubling times, many have been looking to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for guidance. So if you’re still on the fence about wearing masks, you might want to pay attention. So there you have it: if you’re going to be in an unavoidable crowd, wear a mask! It’s the law in New York, and to paraphrase Frank Sinatra and – little trivia – Liza Minelli, if you can mask it there, you’ll mask it anywhere!
Okay, I think you’ve earned some GOOD news… so let’s check in with scientific thirst trap Dr. Anthony Fauci. He recently appeared on the Snap Originals show Good Luck America and was asked if professional and college sports would be back this year. This is what he had to say: “Dying to see a baseball game” may not have been the BEST turn of phrase… but I get what he’s saying! I know I’m looking forward to some major league action… and also sports! I’ll be back in a bit, so don’t go away!
